What is a Postpartum Doula?

As a Postpartum Doula, Lori Beth’s primary goal is to support and nurture the mother-baby unit, and assist the mother during those beautiful yet challenging first weeks. Because “The Fourth Trimester” (the six weeks following birth) is such a significant time for the mother, baby and family, new mothers deserve and should expect to receive holistic care; care which acknowledges that during this period many physical, psychological and spiritual changes occur.

Lori Beth’s role is to provide education, nonjudgmental support and companionship, assist with newborn care and family adjustment and create a nurturing, relaxing atmosphere. It is essential that every new mother receive sufficient support during the postpartum period, so that she can heal, rest, bond with her baby and learn the arts of mothering and breastfeeding. After all, as she is transitioning into the most important and beautiful of life’s roles: MOTHER.

Lori Beth offers support when you need it, how you need it, and in the way you choose it.
